We check your property with heavy weather
The last couple of days the weather has been extreme at the Costa Blanca with heavy rains and strong winds. Rivers floated, schools were closed on Monday as well as many roads. Xabia or Javea registered 150 litres per m2 in 4 days, this is what normally would fall in half a year time.
In the Alicante and Valencia provinces many damages were reported caused by the rain and wind. MMC Property Services makes sure to prepare you villa or apartment when this kind of heavy weather is expected, e.g. place all outside furniture inside, make sure windows and shutters are closed well and checks your home afterwards for any damages, water that may have entered your property and we put everything back in place. Whenever possible we can also go by your house during the heavy rain fall to keep you up to date of the status of your property and we will send you pictures, that way you can see for yourself.

La Nit de la LLum Denia
Last night Denia celebrated "La Nit de la Llum", a magic night where thousands of candles illuminated the streets of the town centre. It was celebrated from 19.00h till 23.00h and all the local shops stayed open until late.
A beautiful sight and many people came to visit the town and walked around the Marques del Campo, La Glorieta, Plaza de la Constitución and la Plaza del Convent. For the town this is the start of the holiday season and Christmas shopping.

Market in Javea
Have you been to the market of Javea? It is being held each Thursday morning on the Plaza de la Constitución and its streets around it in the old town.
Here you can find a variety of local fresh fruits and vegetables, all kind of dried fruits and nuts but also cloths, shoes, belts, kitchen utilities, paelleras, plants and much more.
And after a stroll on the market you can have a coffee in one of the many bars nearby.

Pool repairs
It's almost autumn and most of you might still be enjoying the last days in the pool. After that it's time for a proper check of your pool and use the winter time to do some repairs where needed.
For example once every certain amount of years it's good to grout the joints in between the tiles. That way you keep away the bacteria and mould in the joints and it makes it much easier to clean the pool afterwards.
Besides, did you know the water gets "old" and products will not be as effective any more? Another reason to get the work done and refresh it so next year you won't need as much chlorine for example.

Touristic train in Javea
You probably already have seen him this summer, the touristic train in Javea.
For the little ones or for who likes to take a ride through Javea, you can hop on this train at the end of the Arenal at the large parking or in the port. Enjoy the 7km train ride along the Arenal, La Caleta, El Muntanyar and the port and at each stop you can hop on or off to go for a walk, to eat or to shop.
From June till September the train goes daily each 45 min. from 10.00h in the morning till 01.15h at night.
Prices: € 4,- for adults and € 3,- for children.

Local market place in Javea
Have you already been to the local market in Javea? It is located in the historic centre of Javea next to the church San Bartolomé in a beautiful building and open since 1946.
From Monday to Saturday you can buy here all your fresh products like meet, fish, bread, meat-products, vegetables and fruit and also coffee, tea and flowers. Besides you can have a cup of coffee in one of the bars.
The building is airconditioned and there is free Wi-Fi, they offer free parking for your purchases (ask in one of the stores) and your purchased can be delivered to your home.
Openings hours (till September 15th): Monday - Friday from 8.00h till 14.00h and from 17.30h till 21.00h and Saturdays from 8.00h till 15.00h.

Key holding
No matter if you only contracted our key holding services or also our property management and rental services, at MMC we will always handle the keys you hand us over with great care.
All sets of keys receive a code and are stored safely, the codes we provide them cannot be found anywhere in our files, that way there is no direct relation between your home and the set of keys except for the fact that they open your doors of course! Furthermore we will never hand over keys to third parties without your authorization.
Amongst our key holding services there are the storage of a set of (spare) keys, central pick up point for friends/family/maintenance personnel, service in case you lost your keys or got locked out (it happens) and contact person for your alarm company.

Mintt Unlimited Party
Last Friday the chiringuito Mintt in Javea organized MUP - Mintt Unlimited Party, a 3 hour party on a catamaran along the coast of Javea with drinks, live music and barbecue on board.
We we there and had a great time! We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Javea coastline, the relaxt atmosphere and the great party and mojitos of course.
Don not worry if you missed it! Mintt is organising more of these events, being the next ones on the 15th and 29th of July. Ask us for more details and tickets!

Holiday apartment near the beach
New in our offer! Completely new, modern, holiday apartment for rent for 4-5 persons at only 600m from the Muntanyar beach in Javea.

It´s been quiet on our blog lately but with a good reason, we were extremely busy finding two of our clients a great holiday apartment to buy as an investment and with success!
Both found between the end of April and last week not only a beautiful place on a great location but as well with lots of rental potential as both are close to either the Arenal or Muntanyar beach, shops, restaurants etc.... Hiking trails national park Granadella in Javea
Javea offers some beautiful national parks, amongst others "Parque natural de la Granadella" where you can walk, run or mountain bike.
There are hiking trails of different levels and duration, from a nice walk with the dog to a route with more altitude and climbing, there is something for every hiker! These trails lead you through the beautiful national park where you can enjoy nature, amazing views, some even of the sea, the tranquillity and space. Here the birds company you on your route with their songs.
One of the trails leads to the bay of La Granadella, a beautiful stony beach between two high cliffs and with crystal clear water. Definitely worth a visit and the hike to it goes through beautiful landscapes and a dry riverbed.

Make sure to declare your rental income
This morning in the Spanish news of Telecinco: Hacienda searches each time more actively the owners of rental apartments. They search the internet, advertisements in newspapers and even
look for the signs on the streets.
Remember, if you rent out your house or apartment you need to declare the rental income in Spain. Besides that, if your have a holiday apartment or home, you need to register it as such at the
Tourism board of the Comunidad Valencia, we can help you with that!

A cloudy day in Javea...
... can also be a nice day! For a stroll at the boulevard El Arenal, playing with your children on the beach, fly a kite or go to one of the several play grounds, at the sandy beach or elsewhere in Javea like the Pinosol park.
Now that it´s not too hot you can also enjoy hiking, there are many routes to explore, visit the old town or go for a nice walk along the Muntanyar beach from the port to the Arenal beach and back.
And when it rains? Enjoy a drink behind the glass on one of the many terraces and watch the waves. Or visit one of museums nearby like the Soler Blasco Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum in Javea.
For those who just love the sun, don´t worry, normally the sun comes out soon again!

Denia celebrates Las Fallas
Denia and Valencia are celebrating at this moment the Fallas, spectacular colourful statues, sometimes as high as the buildings, can be seen throughout the city, bands play music on the streets and the local people go dressed in beautiful dresses with traditional hair style and the men in traditional suits. All combined with festivities, parades and food and drinks.
Of course there are also fireworks, during every day there is heavy firework that make the streets tremble and one night there is a spectacular firework show. The complete city smells of powder.
If you are in the neighbourhood you should definitely pay Denia a visit, the Fallas are until the 19th of March, that´s when the festivities end with the burning of the statues

How do you keep track of everybody who has copies of your keys and how do you know where they end up?

Extra property checks after heavy weather
The last couple of days the weather in Javea has been quite unsteady, from 21 degrees and sun to heavy (short) rain falls and even a brief hailstorm the day before yesterday afternoon. All this
accompanied by heavy wind gusts.

Pool safety
Having a holiday home in the Costa Blanca is great and most of the time it comes with your own private pool. However, especially with little children, you need to be very careful and always follow the safety rules and guidelines.
A pool fence can help you to keep children out. Some features to bear in mind when installing a pool fence: the fence should be 1.22m high, have a gate that automatically closes, needs to be from a material that is difficult to climb and dark colours are more transparent, which looks nicer but also gives your better visibility when your children are in the pool.
These fences (see picture) are removable, therefore also a good option if you rent out your property in Javea, for yourself or for your tenants. Families with children can rent your property with the pool fence, others might want to rent your home without the fence. Both is possible as these fences are easy and quickly to place and remove for each rental. An additional feature when renting out your holiday home!
